January 2026

In a twist of events, I have picked up a digital camera again, and started using that for my day to day photography. I have way too many unscanned rolls of film lying around. This is now way to live and move forward. I will scan those eventually and fill the gaps on this site. But for now, I’m trying to be more up to date.

And for my daily film fix, I now shoot and post a Polaroid image daily. I share them here: https://polaroids.danielpietzsch.com/.

It’s April now, and it still feels a little weird to shoot a digital camera. So many buttons and settings! But for a digital camera, the X100s is a quite lovely.

So, January! We had lots of snow and went out with the sleigh a couple of times. Zoe (+ a friend) and I went to the boulder hall one day. I regularly rehearsed with Brutal Unrest - the reunited Death Metal band I now play guitar in (again) - in preparation for the renunion gig in early February. And at the end of the month we had a recording session for Forkalyst. And then there’s of course all the random stuff in between.

Bloody mary has become a tradition on new year’s day.

Wuppertal had propper snow!

Met up with Julian and Justine.

Found the best hill to ride down on.

A warming tea. I introduced some fake grain to this image. Don’t know, if I like this. But digital images look sooo clean.

Zoe’s pretty motivated playing piano.
