July 2026

Despite a dedicated photo walk, July was actually not that fruitful photography-wise. So this is not as long this time. But let’s go…

Nifty bike, man!
Professional door stopper at the office.
At a school fair, looking at some pupil’s art.
Saw a band called ‘Grufflo’ and two other young underground metal bands at Haus Spilles.

Met up with Florian again for an afternoon of photography and chatting. We walked around Hasper Talsperre, which actually did not have that many photogenic spots. We had a good time, regardless.

I took the Rolleiflex. I shot exactly one roll that day.
There a people in this frame for size reference.
The Rollei’s selftimer regularly comes in handy.

Now go and have a look at Florian’s picture from that day.

Kunstakademie Sommerrundgang.
I think the Polaroid I took is better, though.
Inline skating.
…to our favourite ice cream shop.
‘Flaschenpost’ is coming.
Nicole rented herself some roller skates.
Zoe has her own. And auto-focus is my enemy.
There was a dedicated skating area where they had the rental skates. And those two were the absolute best!
Cloudless Düsseldorf Bilk
Massive construction side, making a tram stop accessible and improving the cycle lanes.
Still haven’t seen that movie.
The new cycle lane to the band practice space was finally finished.
I was cycling with a backpack.
Windows 3.1!
Laurenz hard at work.
Udo caught me synthesizing with his Synthesizer.
Cute little bass amp stack at the Pitcher.
Saint Serpent
Finally got to see Behaver live.
Almost missed that beetle.

Nicole got us tickets for The Haunted at the Turock for my birthday. And in July it was time to go. Glorious evening! I was in the pit!

Was a bit disappointed that Jensen wasn’t playing. But hey, not really, when Anders Björler is his replacement! :)
Wet hair after swimming.
Met with Laurenz for a beer in the park.
And we ended up at the BrauArt for some more. Irresponsible night out during the week.
Went to the museum with mum. But actually not this exact one.
We went to the Kunstpalast for the Monet - Cezanne - Matisse exhibition.
Went for a stroll and early dinner afterwards.
It does not get much more ‘Düsseldorf’ than this photo.
Tried the city’s new bike sharing bikes for the first time.
And I’ll finish this month’s post with some pizza doughs I prepared.

See you again soon!
